The rose of life bloomed inside her with every thrust, but only with withered petals. He thrust in and out, quicker and harder now. Aleesha closed her eyes; she was in bed with her husband, yet her mind was somewhere else and she was not sure whether she wanted it to be the otherwise either. Here, on top of her lay her husband, fulfilling his hearts desire after a long day of work. Today, like every other day, he had come home to her yet something was quite different, not quite right.
“Uncle … uncle Fathih…. He comes to my room every night...”
She kept hearing those words repeatedly in her mind, striking her only more every time she did.
“ what do you mean?” she had said and Lana Athoaf had just remained sobbing and hunched for what looked like hours to reply that her loving husband was abusing her, sexually, on a continuous basis. She had hit her, showered her down with words she knew would haunt the poor girl yet … something was not right, which she could place a finger on but chose not to for her own selfish reasons.
She loved Lana, but she loved her husband more, especially after what he has done and compromised for her. She had made a mistake before. She did not want to make one again.
“What’s wrong?” aleesha opened her eyes to see Fathih staring in them; she did not even realize that he had paused. She blinked.
“Nothing… I just have a headache… can we stop?” aleesha regretted her words the moment she spoke them out. The instant shadow that clouded Fathih’s eyes, giving away what he felt and thought, passed just as soon as it had appeared.
“Okay….” Then reluctantly he got off of his wife.
Upstairs, Lana lay on her bed, thinking. Two nights had passed since she had spilled her haplessness to aleesha. She had not believed her; instead, Lana had been forced to encounter a side of her she was not aware existed. Yet, from that day until now, for these two days, Fathih had not tried to harass her in any way; he did not even look at her. It was as if Lana suddenly became invisible to his eyes, he even ignored her during meal times when the whole family sat around one huge table.
Did aleesha tell Fathih about what Lana said? Is that why he is acting the way he is now? But aleesha had not believed Lana in the first place, so why would Fathih stop it knowing that his wife would never believe anything against him. What was he thinking now? With so many questions crowding her thoughts she fell into a deep sleep welcoming the nightmares, which she was so used to.
